Feeling Exhausted? Here's How to Stay Grounded

The Wellness Files

THE THINKER

Society feels exhausting right now. Everyday it's a new headline and the unfortunate reality that the cost of living has quadrupled. Stress was baked into the way we live. But this administration is piling it on us.

So, I’m introducing a new little bi-weekly wellness series, The Wellness Files. A reminder to breathe, unplug, and not let the world eat you alive. Wellness Files will be where we can slow down, find balance, and share practical ways to protect our peace in the middle of all this chaos

I hope this series can become a building block for you to create or enhance routines and spaces that allow you to recharge!

🌿Weekly Wellness Tips

  • Food before coffee. Caffeine on an empty stomach tends to give me the jitters. It’s actually proven that it can severely alter our moods, spike our blood levels, and make us crash hard. Even having a piece of fruit first is better.
  • Cohesive browsing tabs. Recently decided to close all the tabs on my computer that don’t relate to the main focus for me. This can cause overthinking and stress when we have vastly different info open.
  • Mini sunlight breaks. It’s so easy to get caught up in our screens. Step outside for 5 minutes, no phone, and walk or just sit in the present. Think of it as a mini recharge for your nervous system.
  • Micro-declutter. Cleaning every day can be unrealistic and stressful. Instead, try to clear one surface in your space: desk, nightstand, bathroom counter, or, like me, the kitchen table. A tiny reset can bring lots of mental clarity.

Let the tips serve as a guide to keeping yourself grounded. Being grounded means to be present, focused, and self-aware. These tips will help by clearing your mind and remaining calmer. Clutter is linked to brain fog and burnout; having your main spaces, like tables or counters, cleared can help you think more easily and quickly.

📝 Journal Prompt

When was the last time you felt truly calm? What were you doing, and how can you bring more of that into your weekly routine?

🛑 The Random Pause

You know how kids do those random jumps and spins, they think wow, the audience? That’s just pure joy. That’s what’s lacking in adulthood, random acts of joy.

This week’s Pause: Childlike Randomness

  • Dance in the mirror, singing your favorite song
  • Have dessert for breakfast and breakfast for dinner
  • Watch an old cartoon, color, jump on the bed, or just do something you would do if you were 10 years old

gentle reminder: you don’t need to do more; it’s the smallest shifts that make the biggest difference. Take these tips one day at a time and stay the course. If this gave you a little breath of fresh air, forward it to a friend who might need one too and let me know your thoughts!

Regroup, readjust, and finish September strong 🌿

Are Phones Ruining Our Lives? THE THINKER Hate to sound like the elders, but the phones may actually be ruining our lives. As much as we’ve benefited from our nifty little handheld devices, they’ve become such a detriment to many. This has been on my mind for sometime now but a tweet prompted this newsletter. Stop Letting Burnout Run Your Life THE THINKER What if I told you, you don’t need a vacation, you need to rewire the systems in your life? Stress and burnout are running our lives because it’s been packaged up as hustle and passion. And trust me, I'm a victim too! But this year I changed the game. It's my “let it be” year. Realizing how much stress and burnout affect the body in ways we can’t see, often in ways we don't notice until it's too late, changed me. Always waiting to the last...
